 Kahn Star Trek

One of the two biggest gripes I had about JJ Abrams remake of Star Trek was the old and busted plot involving time travel. If we’re supposed to role over and take a story line involving Khan for the next Star Trek movie then I’m holding out for the DVD on Netflix so I can spend as little as possible to view it.

*cough* “roll” * cough*

The TOS episode with kahn is ok but don’t think it would make a good movie. Also by the time kahn reappears kirk is an admiral. Seems with the cast being young they want to show what important events kirk and his crew have to go through to become legends. Im no expert on kirks past but is there some great battle he took part in? Im sure fans could pick out a hundred different things that lead up to his becoming admiral. JJ abrams also messed with the timeline so who knows what the hell can happen. Maybe kahn is never a threat now? The movie was a nice way to reboot the storyline but I can understand why some fans are pissed. He opened the door to changing everything fans know about the trek world.

I thought about Khan as a villain in the idea of Space Seed which was the TOS title. He was found drifting in space aboard an early 21st century sublight vessel in stasis, though his original origin would have to be tweaked as he was “a product of late 20th century genetic engineering” he was even addressed in Enterprise as was Data’s creator and they seemed to intimate that the two incidences were related. Only the time line from Kirk’s birth forward was effected, things that happened before would still be intact. If JJ Abrams does it correctly reworking “Space Seed” as a prequel to “Wrath Of Khan” would be awesome.
