Dr. Freud’s Therapy Ball

Posted In: Gadgets by Andy at 12:50 am

Dr Freud

I have a couple of Magic 8 Balls at work.

But since I’m a manager and sometimes need to deal with issues not related to technology from time to time (like all manner of personal problems employees have at home or personality conflicts with other employees), I’m thinking one of these Dr. Freud Therapy Balls may come in handy in those 1:1 sessions.

It provides twenty different responses such as "How did that make you feel?" and "Talk about your mother."

Hmm, on second thought, there may be some questions there that are best left unasked :)

Animator vs. Animation

Posted In: Stumble of the Day by Andy at 12:04 am

Animator vs. Animation by Alan Becker on deviantART.

An animator faces his own animation in deadly combat in this Flash video. The battlefield? The Flash interface itself.

A stick figure is created by an animator with the intent to torture. The stick figure drawn by the animator will be using everything he can find - the brush tool, the eraser tool - to get back at his tormentor. It’s resourcefulness versus power. Who will win?

Secret Messages From Starbucks

Posted In: Misc. by Andy at 12:09 am

Starbucks Treat (clicky)

Looks like we should be looking at the bottom of our Starbucks cups.

Here’s an informative message one lady discovered scrawled on the bottom of her coffee cup from a Chicago Starbucks recently. This might be a reason why Starbucks is one of the best companies to work for in the entire U.S.: underwear is optional, and the baristas have free time to write interesting messages on the bottom of my Venti drip. :)

Over at Starbucks Gossip there’s a thread on this very topic, check out the comments from the baristas, very entertaining!

APEX USB Tech Lamp

Posted In: Gadgets by Patrick at 6:00 am

This unit is the “Holy Grail” for late night gamers (like me) :)  I got one of these bad boys from my editor here on GeekNews - Thanks Andy!  Works right out of the packaging, no assembly required.  Just set it on your desk, plug it into any available USB port, and push a button.  I especially like this lamp because the base has a very small footprint, AND there are two buttons…one that illuminates the base so you can see the buttons, and the other that switches the lamp on and off.  This lamp is especially helpful for me because I have no light directly where my computer desk is, so I have to use a light from another room to illuminate my computer in the evening, which can be a hassle at times.  Check out the specs below!
