Manga Messiah  Manga Bible

On the left what you see above is the cover to a 288 page true Manga style comic from Japanese artists to deliver the first of 5 books that will tell the stories of the Christian bible. On the right is Manga Bible at a bible thumping 1216 pages.

It’s being delivered by Tyndale House Publishers:

Offering an eye-catching rendition of the Gospels, Manga Messiah combines cutting-edge art with a fast-paced story to deliver biblical truths in a compelling and relevant way, targeting those that might not have interest in reading a traditional Bible. Features of Manga Messiah that provide context of the four gospels include illustrated character profiles and family trees of key Biblical characters, as well as maps of Galilee, Samaria and Judea.

Much as I like Anime and Manga, I rather not see stuff like these being a atheist. Just more ways for people trying to pollute the minds of young people with the bible.

Ah, atheist, eh? Not even a little wiggle room for agnostic in you? :)

Just kidding.

Reminds me of my favorite atheist/agnostic joke I’ve been carrying with me for about 20 years, here it goes:

Q: What is the definition of an agnostic?
A: A chickenshit atheist.

Personally, I see this at a great thing for Christianity. Although you may be an atheist Joseph, I don’t see it as polluting the minds of youth. Most of the Bible is backed up by historical and archaeological evidence.

I’m not here to get into a religious debate though. I just thought I would post on here that I like the idea of the manga Bible and wouldn’t mind flipping through it to check it out.
